I decided to express my great admiration for cartoonist Gary Larson ("The Far Side") by shamelessly mimicking his unmistakable drawing style for my "Thagomizer" comic.An anonymous critic messaged me to complain that the light bulb in the drawing didn't look like something from the 21st Century. Why hadn't I modeled it after one of those twisty-tube energy-saver bulbs instead?
Actually, that would have been a nice touch - and just the the sort of off-kilter detail that Mr. Larson might appreciate, if he somehow stumbled across the drawing.
(Message to my anonymous critic: In the highly unlikely event that you were responsible for creating the original "Thagomizer" comic, please feel free to offer creative suggestions whenever you like.)
